Dr. Vandana Nain

Assistant Professor, St. Francis College for Women, Osmania University, Hyderabad

She holds an M.A. from Jamia Millia Islamia and an M.Phil. from the Central University of Haryana where her focus was Dalit literature. Her research interests include folklore, performance traditions, translation studies, and the cultural politics of North India with particular attention to Haryana’s expressive cultures.

The study positions Lakhmichand’s saangs within regional performance networks and Dalit expressive traditions and demonstrates how careful translation can open these forms to new readers while retaining their political urgency.
